Click "Get started free" in the top right corner. You'll need a name, email, and password. Choose whether you're primarily a landlord or tenant โ you can always do both later. Accounts are free and take under a minute to set up.
Absolutely. Many people rent out one property while renting another. You can create both landlord and tenant profiles from a single account and write reviews in either capacity.
Create your account and select Landlord as your role โ or add the landlord role later from Account Settings โ Add a Role. Add your property and fill out your profile. From there you can invite your current tenants to link to your property, post work orders for maintenance jobs, and write reviews for tenants.
Create your account and select Tenant as your role. Add your rental history and connect with your current landlord to link your tenancy. Building your profile and collecting reviews helps you stand out to future landlords.
Create your account and select Service Pro as your role. Complete your profile by adding your trade, service area, and work photos. Once your profile is set up you'll be dropped directly onto the Find Jobs view where you can start browsing and quoting on open work orders.
RentReady is free to join for all users โ landlords, tenants, and service pros. Currently there are no fees for anyone on the platform. In the future, service pros will pay a small percentage only on completed jobs โ you'll never pay unless you get paid. Landlords will also have access to an optional premium plan with additional features. There are no subscriptions or upfront costs at this time.
Reviews
Navigate to any landlord or tenant profile and click "Write a Review." You'll select a star rating (1-5), write your experience in detail, and optionally tag relevant qualities. You must be logged in. Reviews should be based on firsthand experience.
You can edit draft reviews (while your lease is in progress) from Dashboard โ Reviews โ My Reviews. Once a review is finalized, it cannot be edited or deleted by users โ only an admin can remove a review for policy violations. This ensures transparency and protects the integrity of the platform.
Click the "Flag" button on any review to report it. Select the reason (fake, harassment, Fair Housing violation, etc.) and our moderation team will review it promptly.
Yes. Verified or claimed landlords can post one public response per review. Responses appear directly below the review. They must follow the same community guidelines โ factual, professional, and Fair Housing compliant.
Landlords can review tenants at any point during an active lease covering payment reliability, property care, communication, and lease compliance. When a tenant's lease ends and you move them to "Past Tenant," move-out condition unlocks as an additional rating category. Reviews can be edited for up to 30 days after the lease ends, then they lock permanently.
You have 30 days from the date you mark a tenant as "Past Tenant" to update or finalize their review. After that window closes the review locks and can no longer be edited.
Properties & Leases
Landlords enter their lease start and end dates for each property. The calendar automatically shows when a unit is occupied (red), transitioning (amber, within 14 days of lease end), or available (green). This updates in real time as lease dates change.
On any available property, click the "Apply" button. Fill out the application with your personal info, employment details, rental history, and a personal statement. The landlord receives your application in their dashboard and can approve, review, or decline it.
Work Orders
Navigate to your landlord dashboard and select "Post a Work Order." Enter the job details including trade type, description, and your property address. Once submitted, service pros matching your trade and area will be able to find and quote on your job.
When a service pro submits a quote on your work order you'll receive a notification. Go to your work order to review the quote details, the SP's profile, and their reviews. When you're ready, click "Accept Quote" to move the job forward. The service pro will then be connected with your tenant to coordinate scheduling.
Once the work is done, go to the active job in your dashboard and click "Confirm Completion." This closes the job and triggers a review request so you can rate the service pro.
Service Pros
After completing your profile, go to the Find Jobs tab on your dashboard. You'll see open work orders that match your trade type and service area. Browse available jobs and submit quotes directly from this view.
Click on any open job to view the full details. If it's a good fit, click "Submit Quote" and enter your proposed price and any notes for the landlord. You'll be notified when the landlord reviews or responds to your quote.
Go to the My Jobs tab on your dashboard. You'll find three views โ Quotes Pending, Active, and Completed. Active jobs are ones where your quote has been accepted and work is in progress. Completed jobs show your full job history and any reviews you've received.
Once a landlord accepts your quote, a message thread will automatically open between you, the tenant, and the landlord so you can coordinate access and scheduling directly through the platform.
Tenant Linking (Landlords)
From your landlord dashboard, go to your property and select "Invite Tenant." Enter your tenant's email address and they'll receive an invitation to join RentReady and link to your property. Once they accept, they'll appear as a current tenant on that property.
You can resend the invite from your property dashboard. Make sure the email address is correct. If your tenant is having trouble, they can also create an account on RentReady and search for your property to request a link from their side.
When a lease ends, go to your property dashboard and find the tenant. Click the three-dot menu next to their name and select "Move to Past Tenant." This closes the active lease, unlocks the move-out condition review category, and opens a 30-day window for you to finalize their review.
Yes. You can link multiple tenants to the same property. All linked tenants will be included in any messaging threads opened after a work order quote is accepted.
